The NSFW Guide to

Dealing with Creepers

Why Do We Need a Guide?

With education, warnings, suspensions and the threat of permanent removal and blacklisting from ours and other open love communities, we believe there are opportunities to reprove and improve those who truly want to be better.

We accept there are cases where there is little we can do to encourage positive behavior in others. We accept that we aren’t therapists, psychologists or experts in anyone’s relationships. We make mistakes. We are all imperfect. We all have lapses in judgement.

As NSFW grows, we need policies are in place to make decisions on offenses impacting our membership. We need to have transparency to our membership on the work we do to protect them.

Cultivating consent culture requires constant evolution. We must always ask how we can make things safer and put in the effort to do so. This guide is another step in our evolution. If you disagree with something here, we want to hear from you. You can reach us directly at conspirator@ns-fw.com.

What’s a Creeper?

Creepers are persons inside and outside the membership who intentionally or unintentionally engage in dangerous and/or non-consensual interactions with our members.

What’s a Creeper Report?

In order to ensure the safety of our community, members can alert us to bad behavior they’ve experienced at NSFW hosted events and on our digital community, TheNSFW.Club.

Submit a Creeper Report Here.

When Should I Submit a Report?

An Incident Report should be submitted when reporting someone who could be a potential danger or risk to our community, when someone displays unsafe or non-consensual behavior at an NSFW hosted event, for aggressive or uncomfortable interactions on our digital network or for violations of the privacy of our membership.

There are responses for all levels of offenses.

Our mission is to create safer environments for our membership and the only way we’re able to do this is when we’re aware of dangerous behaviors. You can submit a Incident Report regardless of when an offense took place, but we ask that submissions come in as close to when the offense occurred as this helps ensure other members safety.

If an offense takes place during an NSFW hosted event please make a Nymph, Conspirator or NSFW Staff aware. Many times behavior can be adjusted with a notice at the time of offense. If further action is required, we may ask you to submit an official Incident Report.

What Happens When I Submit a Report?

Your Incident Report is sent to our Chief Conspirator and Director of Memberships. The membership of the offending member may be suspended until a final response is decided.

If it’s a smaller offense, we’ll follow up with suggested actions we can take to ensure the behavior is not repeated and the offending member is warned, required to attend consent training, or suspended.

For more severe infractions, we will contact you to schedule a phone call or an in-person meeting. From there we’ll discuss the offense. Afterwards, we’ll contact the offender and review the offense.

Based on the response of both parties, we’ll offer a resolution. Many offenders will want to apologize. You can choose to accept or refuse the apology.

In the event that the offender denies wrongdoing in an offense that requires suspension or BlackListing, we will pass the Incident Report to members of The Council, a revolving group male and female legacy members who are responsible for maintaining our Code of Conduct. Witnesses can weigh in to assist in a final decision.

Stronger responses may be needed in cases where we believe the offending member is an immediate threat to the community or seems likely to repeat bad behavior.

Offenses and Responses

Responses are suggested.

Responses Explained

Warning - The offending member receives a written notice that their membership is currently at risk of suspension. They are explained what they did wrong and are advised to do their best to make amends. In the event that someone reporting them doesn’t want contact, the offending party will be instructed.

Consent Training - The offending member receives notice that they must attend Consent Training to be reinstated into the membership. They are unable to attend any other events until they attend this event.

Suspension - The offending member is suspended from the membership. This means their account is no longer active. Upon completion of their suspension, they will receive a message that they are welcome to reinstate their account and return to our community.

Blacklist - The offending member is suspended indefinitely from The NSFW and a notice is sent to other play community leaders regarding the members behavior. This action is taken in cases where the offending member has a probability of repeating offense, has made direct threats to our community, or someone who is experiencing substance abuse problems or serious mental health issues which prevent them from being contributing members of The NSFW.

Law Enforcement

In the event an offense requires law enforcement or police response, we will comply in anyway we are requested to ensure the safety of our membership.

Retribution

Access to open love communities should not be used as a method of retribution for past offenses. Using access to The NSFW or relationships within as a means to threaten someone’s access to education and/or communities will not be tolerated. If a report is found to be false or purposely misleading, your membership may be revoked and other community leaders may be notified.

Owning Space

If a member feels uncomfortable sharing space with another member due to an offense they can make a request to own space. Upon request, they can reserve events early ensuring an offending member isn’t present. We encourage resolutions in situations which aren’t criminal, but respect a members desire to feel safe within The NSFW.

Privacy Policy

Incident Reports are shared amongst The Council. The offending party will also be sent the report. In the event that a Council member or someone within The NSFW team is the cause of a report, or the report is regarding a partner of a Council member or team, that member will be removed from making any final decisions on the ruling.  The Council are asked not to share details of Incident Reports with other members and to respect the privacy of our membership.

  • Experience and emotional intelligence vary.

  • Not everyone’s equally educated and informed about play and consent.

  • People are often on the defensive when accused.

  • Relationships are complicated.

  • Open love is complicated.

  • We aren’t in your minds.

  • We aren’t in your homes.

  • We aren’t mental health professionals.

  • We aren’t arbitrators for things we can’t control.

Our policies are based on the belief that there should be opportunities for redemption in some offenses, with the exception of those that include violent or dangerous actions. Our mission is to keep our membership safe and to raise the expectations of the type of behavior we should advocate for in our open love community. Our hope is that by providing clear guidelines for how we manage offenses we can ensure a safer experience for all you become members of the New Society for Wellness.
